At the end of 2003 I took my first trip to New Zealand, partly as a 'trip of a lifetime' holiday and partly to cover the world premiere of 'The Return of the King' movie for the Lord of the Rings Official Movie magazine. The entries below are my logs for each day, often made late at night/early in the morning when I really just wanted to go to sleep! The trip included an unforgettable trip to Weta Workshop. the amazing day of the premiere itself when the whole country seemed to come out to celebrate, and an idyllic few days in Queenstown. There were so many highlights, hopefully captured in this web log, but perhaps the one that remains most cherished was the helicopter trip with Heliworks that visited movie locations around South Island.
