A somewhat jetlagged group of Brits gathered for a "Dark Side" (the nickname given to my "closed" Tolkien forums) moot.
Having had 1 hour's sleep the night before, and operating on UK time which said it was now 4am, I wasn't that coherent. But the rest of the
Dark Side gang,
some of whom live locally, and some of whom flew in the day before Maria, Diana, myself and my mum (who didn't join us so she could get an early
night) seemed to keep up.

Susan (Moocholas) and Bri (AngryPixie) had kindly collected us from the airport and taken us to our hotel - The Hilton at Universal City. A quick shower
and then we met up in front of The Hard Rock Cafe in Universal City - a short walk/shuttle from our hotel. The photo above shows (back row):

Josh (Saruman) arrived just after I took this
picture. With a 45 minute wait time for food we headed off for another restaurant around the corner and soon food and drink were served.

Thanks to Susan and some clever work with one of the photo's I took on my last Comic-Con trip, another Dark Sider was able to join us, albeit in a somewhat
detached fashion. Bill Powers (Sauron's Truss) is currently out in the Gulf serving his
country in the War against Iraq. He is pictured below with Jen (Aldara Greenleaf) and Susan (Moocholas)!

Gemma (The River Maiden) and Josh (Saruman) also got the chance to fraternise with Bill, who here appears to be a little coy about the whole thing!

As honourary guest Bill (Sauron's Truss) was the first to be offered something to eat and drink!

This being a Dark Side moot and all, it didn't take long for things to get a little raunchy! Josh could not resist taking the opportunity to nibble Bill's ear!

And it wasn't long before Jen got out her "After Dinner Nipples" which Angry Pixie kindly offered to "model" for us. Of course Josh
insisted on a closer examination, upon completion of which he advised us "Oooh!
They're creamy inside"!
An early night ensued (I fell asleep the minute my head hit the pillow at 9.40pm, shame I then woke up wide awake at 3.30am - but at least it means I got
a chance to put these first pictures up). Tomorrow (Friday) it's an early start for seven of us as we are doing the Warner Brothers studio tour.
