Phoenix, Arizona

Ian doing impression of famous Arizona cactus Having returned late from The Grand Canyon, today was a "drop out" day at Pip's place. First on the agenda was visiting a photographic shop to get a new microdrive for my camera (the digital equivalent of film) to avoid problems caused by my laptop becoming full (as the photo's here show the problems of yesterday were solved thanks to a Canon RAW converter supplied by Primula's husband - thanks Treble Maker!) The shopping trip also gave Pip the excuse she needed to get her pre-ordered "Lord of the Rings" DVD. We spend most of the afternoon watching all the extra's on the disk!

We met Denise, who I'd also met at the TORn party earlier this year, and went in search of a cactus plant to pose with. Sod's Law says that while yesterday we couldn't get away from them, today we had trouble finding one.

Pip's appartment has a swimming pool attached to the complex and when her flat mate (or "room mate" as it's called over here) Ryan returned from work we all adjourned to the pool.

Tonight Pip cooked us an excellent Lebanese meal, including a special cake with the heart-felt message "Get Out Old Git" before we retired to bed. Tomorrow is the long drive to Los Angeles, and Silver will be joining us for the journey when we meet up with some old friends from the TORn party in March that weren't there in San Diego.
