Irascian (pronounced "Irassian") was set up in May 1998, initially as a one-man consultancy company specialising in Windows NT and Internet Solutions Development.

Irascian's managing director, Ian Smith, has over 20 years experience in the I.T. field, working for large corporations (IBM, Oracle, Amdahl, Southern Gas) and small companies (Open Mind Design, Media Records) alike. With 15 years solid mainframe experience behind him, Ian moved into the PC environment 5 years ago, deciding to specialise in Internet web application design and development and quickly earning a reputation for "quality" and "reliability" that is the hallmark of all the work Irascian undertakes.

After doing some initial work for the Woolwich Building Society (CICS Assembler program conversion from Macro to Command Level) the company has been focussed entirely on design and programming work for TRIP (Travel Reservation and Interactive Purchase), a project partly funded by the EEC to offer new services to European travel agents over the Internet. As key architects for the project we are primarily involved with the use of specific Microsoft technologies (Active Server Pages, Visual Basic server and client components, Dynamic HTML, Remote Data Services, Transaction Server and SQL Server).

As soon as we get time to breathe we'll be posting more details on TRIP here. Stay tuned!
